A careless sliced clearance by the normally reliable Abraham Paz, gifted Celta Vigo all 3 points, even though the visitors battled hard without reward. The first real opportunity of a disappointing 1st half didn't arrive until the 39th min, when a spectacular volleyed shot by Celta's Mario Bermajo flew just over the bar. With half time beckoning, a cross by ex Cartagena favourite De Lucas, was cruelly miss hit onto the underside of the cross bar, where Celta striker Aspas was on hand to head home the rebound, giving Celta the lead. On the hour mark, Aspas should have doubled his goal tally, but from close range, he shot past the near post and into the side netting. Four minutes later, visiting central defender Herrero, came to his sides rescue when he cleared off the goal line following an almighty goalmouth scramble. 

Play was held up for a prolonged period, following a clash of heads between Cartagena keeper Reina and an opponent, and although Reina continued, he was obviously concussed and was soon replaced by Juanma. De Lucas almost put the men from Galicia further ahead after 82 minutes, but his fierce drive was well saved by Juanma. From the very next attack, substitute Chamarro should have leveled the scores, but when put through on goal in a 1 on 1 situation, shot straight at keeper Yoel, who had spread himself well. In the 9th minute of stoppage time, a goal bound header by Paz would have made amends for his previous blunder, had it not been for the brilliance of Yoel who saved majestically, then from the resultant corner, Chamarro headed just past the far post. Bookings for Herrero, Mariano, Chamorro and Alvaro, added to the threat of further suspension for the Los Albinegros squad. Bolado no irá a Vigo.

El técnico del FC Cartagena, Javi López, ha ofrecido la lista de convocados tras la última sesión en el campo de Ciudad Jardín. Goiría sigue de baja por lesión y Dimas está sancionado. La ausncia más llamativa es la de Iván Bolado. La expedición viajará a Vigo para medirse al Celta y volverá en el mismo día. Así queda la lista:

Dimas baja para Vigo.

El medio del FC Cartagena, Dimas Delgado, ha sido sancionado por la cartulina roja directo que le mostó Miranda Torres en el choque ante el Real Murica. Dimas se perderá así la salida a Vigo de este próximo sábado. La plantilla volverá a entrenar mañana a partir de las 10:00 h en la ciudad deportiva Gómez Meseguer. Tras la sesión de trabajo, Javi López atenderá a los medios de comunicación en el Municipal Cartagonova a partir de la una del mediodía.
