Una cantada del portero da un punto al Cartagena. By Steve.

KEEPERS BLOOMER SPARES CARTAGENA BLUSHES
FC CARTAGENA - 1 ATLETICO CIUDAD LORQUI - 1
BY STEVE HIBBERD

On the balance of play, Cartagena fully deserved a share of the points, even though the equalizing goal was late and somewhat bizarre. At the start of play Los Albinegros sat in 2nd place, whilst their visitors were just outside the playoff places in 5th. Following the days results, in which leaders Leganes were held to a goaless draw by basement side Jandia, and a Real battle ensued when Murcia 'B' beat their illustrious rivals Madrid 'B', the top of div 2b table looks like this:
Leganes 45 points
Cartagena 44
Real Murcia 43
Real Madrid 42
Cuidad Lorqui 39
In the games first attacking move, a tantalising cross from the right was powerfully headed past a flat footed Ruben by Gustavo to give Lorqui a 9th min lead. On 36 mins it was Carmonas turn to provide an inch perfect assist for Tato to head firmly goalbound. Although the keeper saved, Juan Pablo latched onto the rebound only to see his shot also blocked. Three mins later, it was that man Carmona who again caused the damage. A 25 yard free kick was packed with venom and accuracy, requiring a breathtaking save from a well positioned keeper Zapata. The action was now coming thick and fast, for within a minute, Ruben was forced to earn his keep, when he kept out a blockbuster. But, the 1st halfs last word belonged to Carmona, when another of his long range free kicks just squeezed over the bar.

Different half, same story. Five mins in, Carmona let rip with another long range speciality, which once again was frustratingly pushed away to safety. An hour had passed when Juan Pablo delighted us all with his snazzy little attempted lob over an advancing keeper, who just reached it with his outstretched finger tips. Ten mins later it was Rubens turn to come to the rescue, when he thwarted a promising Lorqui attack. Just when you thought Cartagenas impressive undefeated home record for this season had gone up in smoke, up popped Addison. The Brazilian showman, on as a late substitute, met Cabrejos testing free kick with a glancing header, some 10 yards out. Although his effort smacked against the upright, lady luck was smiling when the rebound comically hit the back of Zapatas head, then thankfully nestled into his net. Relief or what? Into the 4th min of stoppage time, Lorqui were awarded a free kick in a dangerous position, which was wastefully blasted over the top. Bookings for Juan Pablo and Cabrejo could not sour what turned out to be a good day at the office for FC Cartagena.
