Two absolutely brilliant long range free kicks by Campano, midway through the 2nd half, put a sizable dent in the promotion aspirations of FC Cartagena.Had it not been for a world class performance by man of the match keeper Ruben, Cartagena would have suffered a proper mauling. Surprisingly, it was the visitors who took the lead on 64 mins, Lafuente converting a Victor cross at the far post. The lead lasted for only 2 mins, before Campano took centre stage, scoring twice in 4 mins. When Navarro added a 3rd for the home side on 84 mins, there looked no coming back for Cartagena, but with only 4 mins of normal time remaining, Exposito slammed home a cracking free kick, to set up a nail biting finish. Inbetween, Cartagena had 2 cast iron penalty appeals, for fouls on Victor and Toche, turned down. Having also won at Cartagonova Stadium back in November, the men from Catalonia completed a thoroughly deserved double over a shell shocked Cartagena side. This defeat leaves Los Albinegros in 3rd place in div 2a on 54 points, 5 points behind leaders Real Sociadad and a point behind 2nd place Levante.

ResponderEliminarSteve, don´t forget the umbelieveble referee who put Nástic in the way of victory. It had been two penaltys over Victor and any of the free kicks perfomed by Campano were fault.
