Don't mention lowly Salamanca to the Los Albinegros faithful, for this latest setback against the men from Castile and Leon, meant that they have now completed a double over the promotion hopefuls. With only 5 games remaining, it is imperative that no further slip ups occur if a top 3 finish is to be achieved. Only 3,500 fans mustered inside Hemantico stadium, with both sides requiring a good result for different reasons. The game had been largely uneventful until ex Arsenal defender Frenchman Cygan, received a straight red card on 52 mins for a foul on Ganan. Salamanca fully exploited their numerical advantage, and only 6 mins later had taken the lead through Linares, which they never really looked like surrendering.
