CARTAGENA NAME NEW MANAGER

Having confirmed his continued support for the club, president Paco Gomez, announced the surprise appointment of Juan Francisco Alcoy as Cartagenas new team manager/coach/technico.
Three seasons ago, Fran Alcoy lasted just 17 games in charge of the teams affairs, boasting a record of won 5, drew 3 and lost 9. Following these less than impressive results, he was moved `upstairs` to the post of general manager, where he remained until filling the role of caretaker manager during the last 3 matches of the season (after the sacking of the animated walrus). His appointment is not the most popular one, but only time will tell if he can end 20 years of hurt, and return Los Albinegros to division 2a.
Although the season is well and truely over for Cartagena, I still need my `footie fix`, so last Sunday I took the rare opportunity to take in a div 3 play off match at Torrevieja. They took the brave step of appointing a new manager (ex Cartagena reserve team boss) just before the end of the season, resulting in him rejuvenenting a demoralised side. Best of luck in the play offs Paco and Torry Army, you both deserve it.
