FC CARTAGENA NEWS UPDATE

Local Spanish newspapers, were last week reporting that Los Albinegros had appointed ex Alcorcon man Juan Anquela as the new manager, only for the following day to report that the agreement had been cancelled.
So, where do Cartagena turn to now? In the frame are coaches Del Barrio, Casuco, Inaki Alonso and Benigo Sanchez. At least 2 of these are under contract until 30 June, so a new appointment might be delayed. One player definately leaving the club is Juvenal, who has had his contract terminated.
In the 2nd leg play off matches concerning division 2b group iv sides, Linares lost to Zamora, and are eliminated. Although Merida drew with Ponferridina (a side managed by ex Cartagena boss Amaral and include ex players Cabrero, Marco, Elias and Teo within their ranks), they too have fallen at the first hurdle. Through to the finals are Ecija, who beat Deportivo B, and Ceuta, victors over a strong Pontevedra side.
