NEW MANAGER FOR LOS ALBINEGROS
BY STEVE HIBBERD
It's official. Fabricio Gonzales has finally signed a contract, making him the new FC Cartagena manager.
Following the previous weeks lull, last week has been pretty busy. Fabri Gonzales wasted no time in bringing new blood to the club. Centre back Raul
Felix has joined from div 2b side Pajara Playas. He joins fellow new boy Mariano Gonzales Maroto (nano), who has moved from Lleida (also div 2b). Other recent arrivals (pre Gonzales) are, ex Cartagena goalkeeper Cabrero, signed from Ponferradina, midfielder Eloy Barreto, from Fuerteventura, and last seasons trialist Koeman, who has made a permanent move from div 3 side Relasa Las Palas.
Relasa have agreed to extend their main club sponsorship, which is good news for club President Gomez, as they have been generous friends for many a season.
Finally, the big news of the week is that the Spanish FA have decided to relocate Cartagena to another group within div 2b. From next season, Cartagena will be playing in group 3 and not group 4, where they have been for the last 4 seasons. This means that instead of travelling predominately to Andalucian based sides, they will now be visiting Valencia, Balearics, Madrid, La Mancha, Navarro and of course Murcia provinces. A breakdown of the groups composition, and any further updates will be given next week.
