El Cartagena por buen camino. By Steve.

CARTAGENA LEAD THE WAY
FC CARTAGENA - 3 AGUILAS CF - 0. BY STEVE HIBBERD
A well deserved local derby victory over local Murcian rivals Aguilas, put Cartagena top of div 2b, following nearest rivals Real Madrid 'B' surprising defeat at Las Palmas. Manager Fabri Gonzales elected to field an unchanged side for the 4th time running. Visitors Aguilas included in their ranks, Cartagena old boys Sivori, Chito and Teo. This was Cartagenas 3rd consequetive local derby match. Tv station canal 7, also decided to show all 3 derbies live, although it undoubtable affected the attendance of only 2,500, which was way below the norm for this local derby. Although both team started brightly, it wasn't until the 10th min before a real goalscoring chance was created. Addison chose to chip the keeper, but unfortunately his shot went over the bar. On 33 mins, a well placed corner was met by Armando, but his powerful header was well saved. With 6 mins of the 1st half remaining, Tato struck a volley just past the post, following a fine cross by Addison. It took 14 mins into the 2nd half for Cartagena to score the games first goal. Substitute Nano provided a perfect cross for Addison to head powerfully against the crossbar, but Carmona was at hand to head home the rebound.

Things got worse for Aguilas after 66 mins, when Navarro collected his 2nd yellow card and was sent off. With 12 mins remaining, Carmona threaded the ball through to Tato, who in turn slotted the ball into the net, doubling Cartagenas lead.In the 2nd min of stoppage time, Tato collected a pass from sub Juan Pablo, superbly hammering an unstoppable volley past a helpless keeper, for his 2nd and Cartagenas 3rd goal. In addition to the sending off of Navarro, Aguilas also had Sivori (no surprise there then!!), Sergio and Selves booked, whilst Los Albinegros had Armando, Mariano and Txiki yellow carded.Los Albinegros line upRuben, Txiki, Mariano (Falcon), Roque, Armando, Cabrejo, Carmona, Eloy, Viyuela (Nano), Addison (Juan Pablo), Tato

Forthcoming Fixture On Sun 30 Nov, ko 5pm, Cartagena are away at 14th place AD Alcorcon, for another important div 2b fixture. Then the following week, it's the big one, when the top 2 meet.
